Join us for the special preview party celebrating Scent Fair LA 2025 and be among the first to experience the various offerings at the fair, including a more intimate shopping experience. Enjoy an evening on the outdoor courtyard, open bar by our partners at Madre Mezcal, and an all-vinyl DJ set by Pheels, a DJ, producer, and writer most known as the chief curator behind In Sheep's Clothing (a listening bar, record store, and music editorial website). Ticketholders will receive a complimentary variety pack of perfume samples showcasing work by the exhibitors while supplies last.

Candle Workshop: Smells of LA with Kristen Pumphrey (P.F. Candle Co.)

Join P.F. Candle Co. founder Kristen Pumphrey for a container candle making workshop. Kristen will walk you through creating a custom scent blend using premium fragrance oil reflecting the fragrances we find all around us locally, and then you will learn the hand pouring technique of candle making. Ticket includes resources and instruction and makes two soy candles. Candles need time to cool and can be picked up at 5:00 PM from workshop area.
Incense Workshop: Smells of LA, with Kirsten Pumphrey (P.F. Candle Co.)

Join P.F. Candle Co. founder Kristen Pumphrey and learn how to make hand-rolled incense cones - a meditative and aromatic project straight from her book, At Home with Fragrance. Kristen will walk you through a selection of plant and resin materials inspired by the natural landscape of LA and their olfactory benefits, and you will create a custom blend for your incense cones. Ticket includes instruction and resources, and attendees will roll approximately 20 incense cones.
Ether Exhibition Preview & Artist Meet and Greet

Join us for an artist discussion and Craft Contemporary exhibition preview for Ether. Just as myths serve as intermediaries between the mortal and the divine, smells can transport individuals to different realms of their own consciousness; creating an ethereal connection that underscores the profound and often mysterious impact that sensory experiences can have on the human sense of selfhood. Through olfactory-centric installations and artworks by 13 international and local artists, Ether investigates the convergence between a distinctly embodied sensorium and an equally distinct, yet disembodied quest to create meaning. In this, Ether seeks to contextualize the craft of scent-making within the broader framework of human imagination and expression.
Scent Sachet Workshop: “The Tale of Genji” with Maki Ueda, Olfactory Artist

Guided by Ms. Maki Ueda, award winning olfactory artist and teacher, explore the fascinating science of pheromones and the link between scents and personalities. “The Tale of Genji” is a classic work of Japanese literature written by the noblewoman, poet, and lady-in-waiting Murasaki Shikibu around the peak of the Heian period, in the early 11th century. Workshop participants will sample the scents of the ladies of the poetic novel of the Japanese court, after which you will create your own scent sachet that reflects your personality.
