About Our Programs
Craft Contemporary’s public programming offers a dynamic platform for adults, youth and families to experience and make art. Join us for hands-on workshops with visiting artists, participatory events, art talks, classes, and screenings.
Maker Night
Developed to explore traditional craft techniques in new, experimental and often adventurous directions, our monthly Maker Nights are hosted in our Courtyard (or on Zoom!) and are led by inventive makers and artists for a night of making and socializing.
Skill Level: Projects can be adapted to all levels
FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH
7 PM – 9 PM
Fee per participant: $12 / members free
Craft Lab
Children, adults, families, EVERYONE is invited to explore our current exhibitions by participating in our creative and playful Craft Lab Family Workshops. Deepen your understanding of art processes and new ideas by making your own handmade art inspired by our current exhibitions.
Skill Level: Beginner
SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Fee per participant: $10 / members free
Craft Social
Through the social nature of crafting, these workshops bring together an intimate group who share unique, in-depth experiences with traditional and non-traditional craft techniques. Making is accompanied by music, snacks, and craft cocktails.
Skill Level: Beginners – any level
WEEKENDS (varies)
2 PM – 4 PM

HandCraft
Intimate opportunities to explore and learn a variety of techniques and work with craft based materials Led by diverse makers, craft-masters and professional artists, our HandCraft workshops are developed to teach participants new skills and build a foundation for self-directed studio projects. Offering a chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Skill Level: Beginners – any level
SATURDAY / SUNDAY (VARIES)
1 PM – 5 PM
Fee per participant: $50 – $150
Artist Talks / Gallery Discussions / Panel Presentations
Join exhibiting artists, curators, historians, or other guests for talks, exhibition walk-throughs and panel discussions. We value the development of engaging conversations. Topics are varied. Most programs take place in the museum galleries.
Member Events
Artist studio visits, opening receptions, behind the scenes tours, curator-led, in-depth gallery tours and other special events scheduled each quarter.
Craft Youth Culture
Craft Youth Culture is a free teen program designed to give high school students an opportunity to develop their creativity, work with professional artists, engage in critical discussion around art, and connect and share with other teens.

Crafting Histories
Designed specifically for adults over 55 years, these 8-week craft workshops are designed to give older adults the skills to take a particular craft process to the next level. Previous workshops have included ceramics, fiber arts and book making.
